Mon histoire

Projects are how ideas become change.

I'm Giana Lawrence-Primus, PMP, founder of Project Manager Lab and a Project Delivery & Leadership Strategist. My work is grounded in a simple belief: the quality of delivery matters because the outcome matters. I bring experience across public service, nonprofit organizations, project delivery, professional education, and facilitation to how I think about projects, leadership, and impact.

MY PERSPECTIVE

I am especially energized by projects with the potential to create meaningful social impact—work that strengthens organizations, improves communities, expands opportunity, and contributes to lasting change.

Projects can shape organizations, communities, countries, and the lives of the people they are intended to serve. But impact depends on more than a good idea. It requires clarity about the problem, thoughtful decisions, aligned people, and leadership throughout delivery.

That's why I care deeply about how projects are defined, delivered, and led.

MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

My professional journey has taken me through public service, nonprofit organizations, project delivery, and professional education, with an academic foundation in international relations, public administration, and nonprofit management.

Working across these environments taught me that projects rarely succeed through process alone. People interpret problems differently. Priorities compete. Decisions have consequences. And what looks successful on paper may not always create the intended result for the people it was meant to serve.

Those experiences taught me to ask bigger questions: What problem are we trying to solve? What does success look like? Who will be affected? And will what we deliver create the impact we intended?

PROJECT MANAGER LAB

I founded Project Manager Lab to explore a question that continues to shape my work:

What does it take to lead project delivery well?

My work examines Project Delivery Leadership—the thinking, judgment, communication, alignment, and human leadership required to move important work from idea to meaningful outcome.

As the nature of project work continues to evolve, I am particularly interested in the capabilities that remain deeply human: how we think, make decisions, navigate complexity, lead people, and determine whether what we deliver actually creates value and impact.

BEYOND THE WORK

Curiosity extends beyond my professional work.

I'm a wife, mother, avid traveler, and someone who enjoys being out in the world—exploring new places, encountering different perspectives, and continuing to learn.

I believe how we experience the world shapes how we understand people, problems, and possibilities. That curiosity inevitably finds its way back into my work.
